French Speech Competition

Concours oratoire interuniversitaire du delta de la rivière des perles 2022

Preselection by Universities within the Pearl River Delta Region


The Interuniversity French Speech Competition of the Pearl River Delta returns for the 12th edition! It is co-organised by the Consulates General of France in Hong Kong and Macao, and in Guangzhou, with the support of the Alliance française de Hong Kong, the Institute of French Language and Culture from the Catholic University of Lyon and the French Intercultural Center of Lyon Inflexyon. 

Allowing the best students of the universities of the Delta to show their mastery of the French language and their ability to make a public presentation, the oratory competition will take place on March 18, 2022.

The candidates who will join the competition will have been pre-selected by their university before the competition.  

Given to current circumstances, the French Speech Competition will be hold 100% online for the second time.

Theme
Année 2022 : année olympique : « La pratique du sport est-elle une école d'apprentissage de la vie ? »

Year 2022 : Olympic year : « Is the sport practice a school of life ? »

2. Format
An 8 to 10-minutes presentation in French in front of the jury and audience.
Electronic presentation tools are allowed.

3. Criteria
• Elocution and communication: fluency, pronunciation and non-verbal communication.
• Language proficiency : morphology, syntax and vocabulary.
• Presentation and content : organisation, argumentation, originality and creativity

4. Prizes
The winner from each constituency territory (one winner for Mainland China and one winner for Hong Kong and Macao) will win a dinner for two at a French gourmet restaurant, online French Language courses and a voucher for books.
The 2nd prize will win FLE courses online French Language courses and a voucher for books.
