General of the Czech Republic in Hong Kong, Goethe-Institut, Alliance Francaise, Italian Cultural Institute)
and HKWALLS, supported by EUNIC Cluster Fund, EU Office to Hong Kong and Macao and EUNIC Cluster Hong Kong members. It is bringing four
amazing artists from Czechia (Mara Cmara), Germany (Innerfields), France (Koga One) and Italy (Zed1) for HKWALLS 2023 to showcase their
art and to interact both with local art community and other HKWALLS participants and local partners.
Other EU member states will also highlight their street art culture during this year`s festival. The emphasis is put on the interaction
with the youth. Inneficient.Cie with Kwamé Bâ & Clémentine Nirennold from France will bring a taste of EU hip-hop dance
culture at the Opening of the festival.
EUNIC – European Union National Institutes for Culture – is Europe´s network of national cultural institutes and organizations, with 39

KOGAONE

Matthieu Koga, aka Kogaone, is a French artist, based in Metz. Specialized in large walls, it has left its
mark in Europe and even beyond in cities like Paris, Dublin, Eidhovenor, Sarajevo... His works touch the viewer’s spirit with their
dark irony, varied palettes and unusual or even disturbing combinations. He explores the alteration, the paradox, the embarrassment
that arise when the familiar is deformed or fractured by external influences. He de natures a scene of life and portraits, moves or
distorts fragments, or combines/opposes photorealism to a more free and expressionist painting. He plays with the notion of realism
that he distends to abstraction. It is a way of discovering and accepting the singular beauty that is revealed in hesitation, unfinished
and imperfect.
